A sluggish
lymphatic system contributes to cellulite.
The lymph system is interactive with
every organ, and is directly related to immune function and
efficiency. It is a protector and a defense mechanism against
infection, viruses, bacteria, fungi, and disease. It is comprised of
fluid, vessels, ducts and various other organs and structures. It
clears toxins, wastes, excess fluids, and infection from all tissues
of the body through proper flow and drainage, but only if this
essential system is functioning at its peak efficiency.
The lymphatic system is also connected to every cell and organ of
the body. It is the garbage collector that sucks up metabolic
garbage, toxins, and excess intracellular and extracellular fluid
from every organ. If this flow is impaired, the fluid becomes toxic.
The parts of the body that rely on it for elimination become less
efficient and sluggish as they fill with their own waste. This
otherwise life sustaining system now becomes a breeding ground for
infection. When the fluid enters the bloodstream, as is part of the
normal process, infection can now spread to any organ or part of the
body. Many viruses, bacteria, and parasites stay locked within the
lymphatic system when these conditions are present. The result:
physical ailments, degenerative disease, hastening of the aging
process and of course cellulite.
The lymphatic system is not connected to the heart, so it has to
rely upon some other activity to create the necessary pumping action
it needs to circulate. The three most important methods of lymphatic
circulation are external massage, muscle activity, and vigorous
exercise.
Detoxing with
Cellulite Massage
A cellulite massage will release
toxins trapped within the fat cells. After a cellulite massage you must help flush the newly
released toxins out of your body. The following recommendations will
help:
-
Drink plenty of clean water -
rule of thumb is to drink enough
water to equal ½ your body weight in
ounces. For example: a 150 lb. person needs 75 ounces
of water every day. Purified, spring or distilled with
added
minerals - no tap water!
- Adopt a dietary program that
won't contribute to toxic build-up in your body.
- Certain supplements can help
flush toxins out of your body and may lessen the severity of
detox symptoms.
- Flax meal is an excellent
source of fiber that will sweep toxins from your body without
absorbing the much needed water from your colon.
-
Daily skin brushing
will help stimulate and release toxins trapped under the skin.
You can purchase a brush specifically for this use at your local
health food store. Don't wet the brush or use for anything else.
-
Epsom salt baths are another relaxing way to help with detox.
- Saunas will help you sweat out
the toxins.

The UltraSimple Diet
by Mark Hyman
Did you know that eating
carbs is the single MOST important action you can take to
both lose weight and optimize your health? Sounds
unbelievable, but it's true. Mark Hyman, M.D., author of the
NY Times best-seller UltraMetabolism, has just come out with
a follow-on book named The UltraSimple Diet -- Kick-start
Your Metabolism and Safely Lose up to 10 Pounds in 7 Days in
which he describes exactly why this is the case.
The two primary causes of being sick and overweight are
inflammation and toxicity. Special chemical compounds called
phytonutrients that are found in plants help the body to
detoxify and minimize inflammation. People forget that "carbs"
include vegetables, which are plants, and not just white
bread, flour and sugar, which is what people typically think
of. By focusing on these two underlying causes -- toxicity
and inflammation -- the body automatically takes care of
everything else from there, leading to weight loss, clearer
skin, more energy, better sleep and improved health. |
